How much time can you dedicate to training, meetings, investigations, analysis sessions, and other public events organized by DSGI?

Even though DSGI is a fun team, we take our work seriously. We ask all team members to attend two (2) events outside of Fort Delaware tours per year (365-day period), as well as a minimum of four nights during the Fort Delaware Tour season (Fridays and Saturdays) in October. Would you be able to meet this minimum requirement?(required)

Paranormal investigating is not like what you see on TV. We often spend long periods of time sitting quietly in the dark, using our senses of smell, touch, hearing, and sight as part of the investigation. Are you able to remain quiet and still for extended periods? Are you able to stand for long periods of time?(required)

Our group is a non-profit organization, and we do not have corporate sponsors. However, all junior and senior team members are required to pay yearly dues of $25. Any other miscellaneous items a team member may need are paid for out of their own pocket. Would you be open to this?(required)

When conducting a private investigation at a home or business, you are expected to review your own audio recordings in a timely manner. You may also be required to review footage from a camera used during the same investigation. These recordings can total up to 8 hours per device, so if you have two recorders and a camera, you may need to review up to 24 hours of audio and/or video within a few weeks. DSGI uses multiple cloud services to transfer audio and video for review and submission. Are you familiar with using services such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or Discord to upload and download various types of evidence? We also use tools like Audacity to trim audio clips. By completing this application, you are not automatically joining the team. We are seeking quality candidates, so please ensure that you put forth your best effort in answering the questions. The process will involve thorough vetting of initial applications, interviews, a mock investigation, and a six-month probation period after you are accepted onto the team. I understand that I am subject to an interview process prior to being accepted as a member of DSGI. I acknowledge that I will undergo a background check. If accepted as a member, I will be considered an Investigator-in-Training on probation for one year and will have a mentor (a senior DSGI member) assigned to me for a six-month period. I certify that I am 18 years of age or older and can provide proof of age. I understand that paranormal research, excursions, assessments, investigations, etc. (hereinafter referred to as 'Events') may take place under conditions of total darkness and involve psychologically charged activities that could cause anxiety or other uncomfortable conditions. I hereby certify that I am physically capable of participating in such paranormal research activities and that I am aware of no physical or medical conditions that would pose a risk to myself or others in such conditions. I agree to immediately notify a DSGI Board member in writing if I develop any illness or condition that could impact my participation. I further certify that I will take all necessary precautions, including removing myself from an activity, should I find myself unable to safely participate. I assume full responsibility for my own welfare and safety while participating in any DSGI activities. Once accepted as a member, I give my permission for my photograph and bio to be shared with other DSGI members and posted in the DSGI Members-only Facebook page (confidential), as well as on the DSGI website.
